This year marks 30 years since a Salina woman was murdered, and there’s a $5,000 reward regarding the case.
Gina Bridget Cyphers dropped off her toddler at daycare on the morning on Dec. 28, 1995. She was supposed to pick up her boy later that morning, but she never did make it there. Her live-in boyfriend, Jimmie Anderson, got a call from daycare. He went home and found Gina’s body, KSAL reports. He called police.
Around 12:12 p.m., officers with Salina Police and the Salina Fire Department were dispatched to the home, located at 721 West Cloud #54, to a homicide.
Gina, who was 24 years old then, was stabbed, strangled and possibly sexually assaulted, the Kansas Department of Correction notes on its cold case playing cards. Gina’s story and picture is featured on the cards, which started circulating in Kansas jails and prisons since 2022.
A $5,000 Governor’s reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction for whomever is responsible.
Anyone who has information about the death of Gina Bridget Cyphers should call Salina Police at (785) 826-7210 or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at (800) KS-CRIME.
