Year have passed, and there’s still no clue as to what happened to a woman missing from north-central Kansas.

Kansas authorities continue to investigate the disappearance of Glenna Bullard, who was 38 years old at the time. Detectives have asked for the community’s help.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Glenna Bullard, of Lincoln County, was last seen near Kansas highways 18 and 14 on November 1, 2017. She was possibly headed to Texas, but she made no contact with relatives there.

Bullard was driving a blue, single-cab pickup at the time of her disappearance.

KBI investigators believe Glenna was killed and buried somewhere.

COLD CASE PLAYING CARDS

In April 2022, the Kansas Department of Corrections released Cold Case playing cards in Kansas prisons and jails. The 52 cards feature the pictures and stories of people who are homicide victims, missing people or unidentified bodies. Glenna’s story is featured on the cards, and it’s the hope that inmates will see the photos and stories and be able to provide tips to help close the cases. Similar programs are successful in other states.

“Our agency and our state’s criminal justice community have a commitment to the victims of crimes,” said Kansas Secretary of Corrections Jeff Zmuda stated in a news release this spring. “Our staff members see the unresolved pain experienced by the many families we work with. Hearing the responses from surviving family members when notified that their loved one’s case has been selected for the deck has been powerful and humbling. These families have waited a long time for answers, and this brings some hope.”

“Every call or tip that is shared with law enforcement will be vetted by investigators assigned to the case,” stated KBI Director Kirk Thompson. “No matter how small, each tip has the potential of being the missing piece of information needed to finally provide justice to crime victims and their families.”

“For many of these cases even after years of investigative work has occurred, questions still remain that need answers before a perpetrator can be held accountable,” Thompson shared in a statement regarding the release of the cards. “It’s our hope that by distributing this deck more attention is drawn to these cases, and that someone comes forward with details that will move us one step closer to providing justice.”
