I am truly honored to share I have earned a National Edward R. Murrow Award from the RTDNA.

This fall, my husband and I traveled to New York City to celebrate at the national ceremony. While it was disappointing to not be invited to accept the award on stage, it felt so good to be surrounded by the best people in this industry.

These are incredibly prestigious awards. It’s one of the highest honors I’ve earned in my 17-year career. This is to commend two projects of mine: my investigative work regarding missing people and for my in-depth stories on Kerri Rawson helping with the cold case investigations into her dad, serial killer Dennis Rader.

Yet, it’s not just about me. This award also celebrates the work of some of my peers from my last job. Cheers to Frank Waugh, CBM KAKE, Hannah King KAKE, Pilar Pedraza, ARowe Films, Andy Duffy and Cassidy Sutton for your fine work in this excellence in our digital storytelling. I miss you guys so much, and I want to make sure you get the kudos too.

I am proud to have put together this team submission. These are my friends.

I am also proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish.

This is definitely the boost I need. There are incredibly bright days ahead. I appreciate your support.
